About "Clash Of The Titans"...

Maybe many of you have already heard about this movie, Clash of The Titans or maybe you just heard about it, but the first time I knew something about this prodution from Warner was months ago, I think it was last Summer, when a friend told me that they were filming it here, in the Canary Islands!

The locations used are mainly in the Teide (in Tenerife), in the beautiful National Park. Some other places were The Dunes of Maspalomas (here, in Gran Canaria), Lanzarote and La Gomera.
The story is about "The mortal son of the god Zeus, who embarks on a preilous journey to stop the underworld and its minions from spreading their evil to Earth as well as the heavens", starring Sam Worthington ("Avatar", "Terminator Salvation"), Liam Neeson ("Taken", "Star Wars") and Ralph Fiennes ("Harry Potter", "The Hurt Locker").

Here´s a trailer:

And here are some shots of the wonderful Teide, in Tenerife.

And this stunning shot of Maspalomas, in Gran Canaria.

The movie will be released this week in many countries and I can´t wait to watch it!
So if you finally see it, you will be seeing a small piece of the Islands I live in.

Happy watching!

Be A Fighter

What is fair in this world?
Sometimes you wonder and I bet you can´t find a clear answer. What is fair for some people it´s not for others, so the idea can be confusing.

Some days you wake up, after months (maybe years?) of hard work, non-sleeping nights and a lot of stress and nail biting, just to find out the destiny has prepared a nasty surprise for you...

Well, don´t hide! Don´t run to cry in a corner!
Time is still running and the world is still spinning. You can´t solve your problems with tears, fear or despair. You have to stand up and fight.
And the world comes back to you with a punch in the face, you have to fight harder.

There is no point on believing there´s nothing you can do. sometimes, it could happen, that things will go worst and worst, and it´s only you who can change them for the better.

So, all of you out there, maybe the world hasn´t been fair to you or your efforts in life, but this will make you stronger, keep fighting.

These words are dedicated to all my fighting friends and to all those who need some motivation :)

Happy Weekend!

Cooking For Kids - Recipes

It´s something very extended that sometimes kids refuse to eat vegetables and fruits. I thought it would be interesting for moms and dads, worried about their kid´s health, to find some recipes that could help them to introduce vegetables into their childs´diet.

I asked a friend of mine who has childs, and she recommended me these sites to find kids recipes:

Projecting...{Photo Mosaic}

Last week Mitsy, form http://www.artmind.etsy.com/ , challenged us (the ones we play the weekly mosaic game) to create a mosaic that somehow represented ourselves. And here it´s mine: I took a picture of a blu eye and red/black ahir for obvious reasons :)
And I chose a smile because I love thinking in positive ways. And finally the tree, because I love nature.

Bacalao Al Pil-Pil - Seafood Recipe

This traditional Spanish recipe is very tasty and perfect for any season. I´d like to share this recipe with you:

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds salt cod, desalted

  • 1 1/2 cups olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced

  • 1 small dried hot chile, seeded and cut into rings

Preparation

Drain the salt cod. Cut into 3-inch squares, leaving the skin.
In a 12-inch cazuela, heat the olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add garlic and chile and fry, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the garlic starts to turn golden. Transfer the garlic and chile to a small bowl and reserve for garnish. Reserve the oil in the cazuela.

Decrease the heat to medium-low and add the cod pieces to the oil. Simmer for about 10 minutest. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cod to a plate and then pour the olive oil into a wide heatproof bowl to cool. When the cod is cool enough to handle, remove any errant bones, leaving the pieces as intact as possible.

Return the cod pieces, skin side up and in a single layer, to the cazuela.

Place the cazuela over medium heat and begin by spooning 2 or 3 tablespoons of the olive oil over the cod. Rotate the cazuela in circular motions over the burner. Continue the motion until the first drops of oil start to emulsify. You will know that the emulsion is beginning when the oil drops turn pale and cling to one another. Eventually the whole sauce will turn pale white.

Continue to rotate the cazuela, interrupting only to add the olive oil gradually, spoonful by spoonful, until all the oil is incorporated into the emulsion. It will take from 15 to 30 minutes to make the sauce.

Garnish with the reserved garlic and chile. Serve hot or warm.

I hope you will enjoy this dish! :)
