Good news story, kudos.
To me, the message seems like - problems with no solutions (yet). I wish there had been more time for them to elaborate on the emotional roller coaster and money spent with little return for who knows how many people/families.

That may be but do you actually think this practice is fair and should be legal. To me and hundreds of thousands of other folks who are patiently waiting in line, it is fraud because you are cutting in line. The sad part is we see that you are cutting in line but we can't do s**t about it just because it's legal.
Why do we all start complaining when illegals get preferential treatment than us? We all start saying that we came here legally, we pay taxes, we waited in line, we did everything by the book.. bla bla bla. Well .. they are also getting their gc legally so the why do we complain?

Noticed you joined in September 2007, and this is your 5th post. Welcome to IV!
Were you present at the rally? I'm guessing you weren't.
IV represents high-skilled, educated, professionals - most of us don't expect to see major changes happen overnight. We do not expect the United States Congress, or the Senate, or the White House to fall in love with our cause instantly and issue us green cards by the weekend!
Nevertheless, the process of educating lawmakers, the media, and the country should continue.
The rally was just another step, albeit a significant one. It's symbolism isn't lost on anyone who attended. A significant number of meetings were held on lobby day.

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............

Lot of people love him. They believe him, his expressions, his anger, he manages to get the fire out of people using his rants.
If there is a media drive, I am sure other media will love to rape him and that may work against CNN and CNN will start watching things closely.
This can be just a start but I think we must target this guy - I am sure he will start turning tables and flip flop ...
Remember, America is all about law suits and every corporate makes itself immune from Lawsuit but youtube, google, internet and media is something they cannot immune themsleves from.

Like it or not, USA want diversity;), they not want to be a second Indian, Asian, Mexican, African, European etc country.
And one way to try to manage this is by country limits.
The "diversity" is a celebrated argument in USA. However, it takes a backseat when doling out amnesty. And "justice" is also important, and you can't sacrifice something as important as Justice for "diversity", which is just a long-term-point-of-view concept

Because you are a man and you are from Mars. Men are that way .. they always live in future and somehow completely forget that its the present that they need to live fully and enjoy to the maximum extent. Women live more in present and that's why you will see very few of them stressing themselves out on these forums.
My wife always reminds me this. According to her, its ok to read forums and keep yourself updates with what's going on ... but don't get to much into it, otherwise you will loose your peace of mind.
So I have found my own way ... I am completely into these forums and no matter how hard I try I can not escape from it (you remember.. I am from Mars ... worrying about future is my nature ... so after I get my GC, I will find next topic to worry about ... may it will be abut the US economy or may be how my son's future shapes up), but at the same time I try to convert my frustration to a positive energy by thinking new ways to solve the problem, and contributing them to various forums at IV.
I think you have reached to a state, where you feel disturbed. I would recommend that contribute to IV in a positive manner .... it may be ideas, money, support, organizational work or any other thing. I think this is the only way you can recover from this GC Depression.

In my opinion all this 5 months, 6 months rule applies only if you have not waited at any step. Like in EB1 where you can go thru the whole process in an year.. However if they made you stick to the same employer , same position for 10 yrs (maan i.e 1/4th of your working life!!) you can always have a strong argument even if USCIS decides to do something. I think those who got "freedom" , you have worried enough.. now it is the time to "go out" and enjoy!!
