Eiffel Tower is one of the most recognizable and popular structures of the world. Tower was inaugurated on March 31st 1889 at the International Exhibition of Paris to commemorate the centenary of the French Revolution. The Eiffel Tower is 984 feet tall.construction of the Tower began in 1887 and it finished in 1889. The Tower weighs 7,300 tons and it is 324 meters high.The Eiffel Tower is an iron tower built on the Champ de Mars beside the River Seine in Paris. The tower was inaugurated on 31 March 1889, and opened on 6 May. Three hundred workers joined together 18,038 pieces of puddled iron using two and a half million rivets, in a structural design by Maurice Koechlin.The metal structure of the Eiffel Tower weighs 7,300 tonnes while the entire structure including non-metal components is approximately 10,000 tonnes. This March 31, 2011 is celebrated the Eiffel Tower's inauguration completed 122 years.
