Exactly, for those folks who think Kodak was just a film company you're totally off base. They had the diversity but not the vision to adjust to the transition and ended up wholesale auctioning their future. Kinda what we're doing as a country right now.
Kodak believed that their "customers" were the drug stores that did the film developing -- and those drug stores hated the idea of digital photography. So instead of focusing on the their real customers (i.e.: those who used their camera and film) they played to the whims of the drug stores and the entire digital revolution passed them by.
Funny though, one of the best cameras we ever had for producing decent photos was the one that used their magnetic film and showed you what the picture you just took looked like on a little LCD screen. If you did not like the picture you could mark it for "do not develop" and then take another. You saved money on developing bad photos this way and you were still using film (albeit a new kind of film). I can still remember the commercial for that camera with the young couple visiting in Italy trying to get different locals to take photos of them in a specific spot so they could make it look just like an old photo they had of one of their parents in the same spot from decades earlier. Each photo that turned out wrong was marked to not be developed and then they would try again until they got the perfect shot. There is a great sense of community with us Mac users, something that I love. I LOVE my mac, I use windoze all the time...it just dosen't work for me...I am a curse to PC's...I cause Blue Screen's of Death whereever I roam. When I do my Programing for Comp Sci @ my HS, I have to do a restart at least 4 times a week OY! But do understand that it is running Win95...So I can't blame the comp too much...I take all sorts of crap everyday from my PC using friends, who all bash apple. Reason? none...Yeah...

Sometimes it will just sit there on some of my older workstations. Clearing cache or waiting on hardware or whatever the heck it does.
Most times it's installing something. I wait it out and eventually windows will shutdown.
If it's installing something, there's usually something like a "cursor" flashing, but in this case the "cursor" was frozen in place.

Its not that democrats "don't have balls."
I have been thinking about this a lot. I am anarchist politically, but lets put that aside for this discussion.
Lets assume that democrats in political office by and large do care about issues of poverty and inequality. Lets take them at their word for a just a moment.
The reality is that even if they "care", they are not impacted by these issues in the real world. They come from a position a privilege, one in which the reality of actually needing and using social welfare programs will never effect them.

From my experience, it's the Finder that's slow, not iDisk. I access my iDisk (the few times I need to) from Transmit and it is very fast.

The worst thing about the picture is the amount of noise it has and the fringing by the flowers. UGH!
I know you're being at least somewhat sarcastic, but I'd like to see you get something better from a hand-held 1/60 sec exposure at F2.0 and the ISO set to 3200.
It is amazing that this is even possible without image stabilization. I mean...ISO 3200!

alli did was put in the xp cd on the drive.. pop in another hdd.. and rebooted.. at startup press and hold the option key and your startup devices come up choose the xp cd... boot from that then install to the other hdd.. and done and done xp is installed no problem as for the drivers thats where bootcamp driver disc comes in
but mind you.. you do NOT need bootcamp to boot and install windows xp.. but will need it for drivers and such

I'm with Rogers in Canada and my iPhone 3G Date & Time had "Set Automatically" to ON. I had to change "Set Automatically" to OFF before the time corrected itself. My Time Zone is set to Toronto.
My Mac changed correctly (Leopard 10.5.8) and the Set Date & Time automatically checkbox was ticked.
I'd say Apple have a problem with iOS 4.2.1 as well. Governments around the world should stop dicking around with Daylight Savings. That would solve the problem.

If I were to guess, it would be this single new model alone for the rest of this year, with the 2 older models slotting in as the "bargain" versions for the holiday season. Then next year, after the launch of Kinect has settled in, and the older models are pretty well phased out, they could introduce a wider range of models.I've heard that the older Arcade and Pro models are no long in production. What is going to happen once they're no longer in stock?

I think what we are all seeing is that the differentiating factor between Apple and "the others" is no longer software. Windows 7 is now good enough that it can easily compete with (and in many areas, exceed) the software offering on any Mac.
Windows 7 is nice and XP is still a champ on my crappy Dell work laptop. But, to this day, I use my wife to validate such notions (not my own). She, a long time Windows user, will never go back because she just gets her stuff done on the Mac. She could care less about Apple (she rolls her eyes when I talk about the company). She uses a tenth or less of the power, but that's the point isn't it. The general user doesn't care about these specs, just about getting their **** done. with the minimum of hassle or problems.

I tend to use all the office apps and go back and fourth depending on needs. The exception is PowerPoint for Windows, I don't use that very much.
