No surprises for me at least. There will be only 816 new EB3 visas available for any country in October. This will move the dates at the most by a month or two and this will continue for ever until a new legislation is passed, that is why DC rally is all the more important and everyone should focus on that to bring in a change.
For folks wondering how I came to the 816 visa number
Total GC available = 140000
7% country limit = 9800
split for EB3 = 3266
spread for each qtr = 816
Good Luck to all and don't have high expectations because you will be disappointed when the bulletin comes out.

asindu...sorry to hear that man...can you post the link of this act or an analysis of it. I bet a lot of people will support it if they see a credible evidence that it will help the legal immigrant community. There seems to be a widespread belief that this focuses on the illegal community.
There is a lot of bad rap that we the legal immigrants have to face because of the rampant illegal immigrant problem, most of the folks here gets peeved off if an act has a bias towards that.

what happens if I had interfiled with a new I-140 EB2 (currently pending) and now my original approved I-140 EB3 became current?

A lot many can empathize with you. But if you are looking for relief - you ought to take responsibility for how you feel. You already understand the forces of nature - you will get your GC when it's your time. If anything your needless frustration and forceful attempts are only interfering with the energies that have made your PD current.
Just relax - get some exercise, eat well and participate in things that lift your soul.

As the time progress, I am doing all sorts of things, like checking USCIS case status, and checking everything that can possibly give me some information. I know that it is waste of time, I know it is not good for health, I know that I will get GC when time comes, but still, my mind is tricking me to think about it. I checked all these forums until 2A.M last night. I am not having enough sleep. I am waiting for a opportunity to get rid of my desi employer. I am really getting frustrated (I am not saying that I have been waiting for GC approval desperately). I just want to share my frustration and what I have been going through. I know I am in a better position than most of other people whose priority date is not even current. I wish they never dangled a carrot in front of me. I am not sure if they disappoint me next month, but I am still keeping my hopes. Hopefully, I would get over this and have enough sleep from today.

Received 1 year EAD.....though PD is not current!

EAD Card production ordered as of 8/19.
E-filed: 7/11
Receipts: 7/18.
No Finger printing notice received. This was at NSC. Mostly will get 2 years EAD as my PD is nowhere near to current but will update everyone for sure once I receive the cards!

I also work in a IT consulting position but still decided to go ahead and buy a home in St Louis back in September 2007. My 485/EAD/AP was filed in August 2007 and EAD approved a few weeks back. However despite my current situation, I believe buying a home was a wise decision considering the kind of lifestyle and security it provides for you and your family. I know a lot of my friends who decided to take the plunge and bought houses though they were working on H1 and have their GCs pending for a few years.
Taking a plunge now on EAD is like drowning yourself. prices have not yet come down and will come down by 15-20 % over 5 years. there is talk about recession , job losses and more foreclosures. if you dont need the space ...DONT BUY. most of us dont need more space unless we have 2-3 grown kids who need their own rooms. renting is not same as throwing away money as you get a place to live. how does buying a home give you security ..it is more of a hassle if you are on EAD or H-1 and you need mobility after a job is lost. my friend who has good worldly experience rightly said ..buying a house now is like worrying about one more thing in life.

Wellwin I am totally agree with your points and whatever you have mentioned in your message is appreciable.
like_watching_paint_dry your points are valid but try to see from the other side I mean think if would have chosen for CP instead of 485.
Please don't hink that CP filers are not contributing in any efforts of immigration voice, I have also sent letters to president for this latest campaign although there was no point mentioned for CP. I know that we can win this battle together.
In short I just want to say that it would be good if we all work together please do consider the CP filers as part of this community.

As far as I know, a CP applicant can always switch over to AOS if already inside the US. It is harder for an AOS applicant to switch to CP.

My GC got approved almost a three weeks ago. I stayed with my employer through the whole GC process till now. Now I want to move on with better job/salary.
My attorney suggested to stay with the company for atleast 6 months as it may cause issues during the citizenship application. He also mentioned, employer has the right to revoke the approved green card.
Is it really true, employer can revoke the green cards, just merely for switching jobs.
I have my doubts that they can. Did anyone else heard anything similar.
I tried looking at the web but could not find any written law by USCIS on this.

I will like to ask your brain if this could be a problem as i did my H1 B Transfer twice before appling for my I 485 and everything went sucessful my GC sponsering Company is not in good terms they might have even revoke my I 140.

your degree certificate changed if you completed your degree in 2000 and gave some supplimentry exam in 2002, so you did not get Degree Certificate in 2000. You got it in 2002. That makes it 2002 Degree Holder and not 2000. That mean whatever supp subject you are saying was mandatory for Degree Completion.
