Please remember that even if BEC clears the application with 2001 priority dates. These people still need to:
1) Apply for I140
2) Have I-140 Approved
3) Apply for I-485 only if their priority date is current
4) Complete various I-485 tasks like fingerprinting, BACKGROUND CHECKS (this is a huge one and unless you are lucky you can get stranded for anywhere between 6 months to 3 years)
5) Now after completing 1 - 4 above you can expect that they will apply a visa number to the application

I am working in tech field doing techie stuff (like System.out.println ;)) I did PMP in Jan 2008.. so far i didnt get a chance to use my PM skills (thanks to USCIS for not giving me GC yet and limiting my ability to look for better job)
I havent done MBA so I did learn few (project) management lessons while preparing for PMP.. although I wouldnt say that real world project management generally follows what is published by PMI
For studying PMP, I would highly recommend reading PMP Prep book by Rita Mulcahy.. I never read PMBOK... Also, give few mock up exams (there are plenty available on net)...
I am preparing for CFA level 1.. and man PMP was much easier! (just comparing one certification to the other - one with 5 books to read and other with only 1 book!)

Over 60% of the US and 90% of Arizona supports the law they passed. Obama and his Attorney General are doing the wrong thing by interfering with state politics. How can these high ranking officials tell state law enforcement NOT TO enforce laws? The Supreme court will favor AZ even before the case starts. Slam Dunk.

1.) if i've no brain of my own to differentiate between right or wrong, so i must rely on the poll numbers to help me choose my position
2.) if i'm a cheap bastard running to get elected in some useless office ..... therefore i must do what is popular than what is right.... i must give up my conscience and i must choose my position looking at the poll numbers......
i'm afraid that neither of these two conditions apply on me..... so i'll have to disagree with u.....

AZ will lose..... federal government is asking AZ to enforce the existing law and disband their illegal & illegitimate bill sb1070 becoz its in violation of the constitution of the country..... applying existing federal law will take supremacy over "AZ immigration law" ........

I have been through your situation twice for my 2 kids who were born in houston, texas.
First of all, let me tell you its expensive. You are expected to pay about 2500$ to the doctor, about 3500$ to the hospital, 1500$ for epidural (if used) and also about 1000$ as misc. (for ultra sound, x rays etc).. This is a rough estimate and in my opinion it is still better option than paying for a maternity insurance. This is what I found with maternity insurance, you will be paying about 600 to 700$/ month as a premium for almost a year, and even after that, you will end up paying about 20 or 30% of the cost (which is your deductible).
The complications covered on individual insurance in texas are really not of much help as they only cover catastrophic situations. New borns are usually covered for the 1st month on mom's coverage (for individual insurance).
Keep in mind, the hospital and doctors office will negotiate with you, if you are making cash payment. You will be surprised to know that, I was told 5000$ for my wifes normal delivery (2 night of stay in hospital) by the hospital near houston texas and finally settled down to 2500$ for my first child (back in 2003). Do some research and find out all the hospitals within 25 miles near you..
I know its lot of money but in the end you are giving your kids the American citizenship. Do not get hung up on the money you spent, as the baby will give you lot of joy and will thank you for what you did today (Hopefully;-)..

but even with this big announcement tomorrow, we still only have 140,000 visas and keep in mind USCIS has just been averaging about 100,000 per year. (so about 40,000 get wasted every year)
All all this does is to push the bottleneck further down the pipeline.
the only benefit I see is that it helps with filing of AP and EAD which does not help someone like me with my 485 already pending

hey Dhundhun and everybody else.... thanks for ur precious advice. This forum is really helpful for people like me who do not have much experience with US rules.
Dhundhun, to answer your question...no I do not intend to break the contract. I just want to protect myself from any mishap in future. By the way as I mentioned earlier, the contract is not of 12 months....its for ENDLESS time. It says that if I leave the company anytime...I will need to refund all the training costs that the company would of incurred in last 12 months.

as per the info u provided u'r...... mail dt is 8/17/07 & receipt dt is 9/26/07...... did u'r application reach cis after july visa bulletin..... if yes, then it appears that with u'r april-06 dt. the priority dt was not current when they received u'r app .... is that a possibility.....

We had gone for our daughters PIO card and had her with us - the consulate folks were extremely helpful and helped us through the process quickly so that our daughter wouldn't go through any discomfort in spite of a huge rush. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes of reaching the consulate (kudos to the security screener especially who spotted us waiting in line and led us right in to the counter).

I'm on HB1 but my visa which was issued based on previous H1B has expired. My current HB1 is going to be extended in a few months. I kept postponing my travel to India because of the hassle involved in re-validating visa. I will have to use time off my vacation to get the visa stamp. I did not travel for almost three years. It makes a patient believe that results should be expected within few minutes after initiating any activity just like the click of a mouse does. Examples are on-line credit card payments, rental payments, electricity, telephone, cell phone, cable bill payments, money transfers to name a few. Over period of time when you the patient gets used to these habits, he tries to extend the same logic to other walks of life. Expect results within few minutes. What the click�O�maniac does not understand is certain things in life requires some amount of time in terms of weeks and patience to complete. Even though he/she knows that USCIS is going to receive about � million applications by Aug 17th and receipting of 485 applications is going to take long time, he/she can not resist pressing F5 button on bank statement URL, USCIS press room URL, immigration voice URL, on line case status URL, email account URL and what not URLs. So, someone is trying to contact CSR every day about the receipt status, verifying if checks are cashed or checking LUD on previously approved certifications on hourly basis, it is not his or her fault. Culprit is this undiagnosed disease. If untreated, he/she may be desperate for the finger print notice date in near future. After the finger print notice date, it may be FP notice acceptance date or LUD on case status.

FYI: The number of name check related lawsuits increased 10 times from January 2006 to January 2007 :) I estimate the total number for this year will be 3-4 times bigger than 2006 number.
