WASHINGTON � Democrats are trying once again to advance legislation that would give some young illegal immigrants a chance to live legally in the U.S.
Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois plans to file a new DREAM Act bill on Wednesday. In the House, Rep. Howard Berman of California plans to file similar legislation.
Generally, to qualify the young immigrants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent and have spent two years in college or the military. They must have been under 16 when they arrived in the U.S.
At least one Republican, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida, is co-sponsoring the House bill.
The bill filings would follow a speech Tuesday in Texas on immigration by President Barack Obama.

This is the attitude of our guys. So desperate. The agents get irritated because of this.
Your application is already there if you have the delivery confirmation, what is the point of calling them? They will issue or reject when they get to it, by calling them they are not going to go searching for your application..
Please be patient the decision to accept or reject is not going to change by calling them for a receipt notice!

who cheated whom? come on diptam. you have been here for so long...
you can not talk like that... people look forward to get advise from guys like you. not hatred..
your company/employer cheated you. not anybody else... please rethink about it.
You dont need to knock anyones door - I'll proactively go to anyone who used a "Labor Subs" and call them a Cheat because they have cheated someone else's Property and Dream.
Its gone but i'm personally a victim of that - My 1st Labor was traded in the Market for certain US dollars... The legislation was not there - otherwise i did have sufficient Proof and resources to take care of that cheat company.

I received a soft lud on my H1B approved in Nov 2007. All other cases do not have any LUD. I guess it is just the system touching these records as routine maintainence.

I just posted this in another thread.
I saw the show yesterday. It is very sad that people like lou dobbs are twisting the facts by saying around 700,000 H1b visa holders are overstaying in USA. Also on that show one senator named "TOM" forgot his lastname, is saying the same and also that guy even did not know how long H1B is valid, he says it is valid for 5 years after that H1b visa holder become illegal. These kind of people spread hatered among common people against immigrants. is there way, we can sue these guys for their racist remarks/ misleadeing information?

That is SUCH a huge whopper. :D So they waited for 3 freaking years before implementing this!

If you are replaceable then you have false claimed in your application that no American is available for your job. It defeats your H1B and Green card application. America invites H1Bs and gives them greencards not because they are paying taxes but because employers prove no american is available for our job and we have unique skills for job. 'Best and Brightest' is we are and USA needs us. Without us the economy will be more bad.

I am sure whatever technology you are working on, there are 100 more people capable of filling that position as of now. So, even your so called skilled position can be filled within few days. USCIS interprets even today, what the conditions were at the time of filing. Not what the current job/wage or labor market conditions are.

I am not sure whether should I consider myself under EB2- Jan 2004 or EB3 Jan 2004. Because, I didn't get any confirmation of the case interfiled. Of course its just this week that lawyer that initiated the interfile.
