House Immigration Sub-Committee is planning on mark up Congresswoman Lofgren's recapture bill tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon in her subcommittee. This is an extremely IMPORTANT development. We are hoping that an agreement reached such that there is no party line vote on this effort. As such all members are requested to PLEASE PLEASE call the following members on the subcommittee requesting them to support Lofgren's recapture bill H.R.5882.

you can directly go to USCIS website and take printout of your approved I-140.
It will not have all informaion but more then enough to change job .
AFAIK , you can only see the text that the said 140 is approved. Did you mean actual copy of the approval ? Some thing that looks like a real approval letter , a scanned copy ?

This guy with absolutely clean record was held for 11 weeks for verification and lost his father in this process..
I have been trying for last 8 weeks non-stop in front of computer and I am not able to even see any open appointment...
WE REALLY NEED TO RAISE HELL ON THIS...
SENDING LETTERS TO CLINTON or may be IV rep team to meet her on this issue...
A lot of guys are stuck and have suffered for no reason...
Can you bring your friend here. If we can add stories from people who suffered, it would add more value.

My lawyer is asking 350 for EAD and 500 for AP for each person excluding filing fees.Is it normal.or Can I go to another lawyer for EAD and AP who is cheaper than my company lawyer.
In general they are inclusive ie 485 + EAD + AP for primary is $1000 and for additional is $500 which is a standard.

How did you get the LIN number for this case?
Hm.. I was thinking that these are random #'s that I had typed in earlier and which IE had saved in the form box. But now I think about it, I believe i got these numbers from this forum on some thread long time back.. Don't know which one, I have edited the post now to mask the LIN #.

Eb3I may nudge forward a little bit. Sadly that won't be very helpful to most folks on this board. Visa recapture is the only thing that can help near term. In the interim, administrative fixes, rule clarifications, USCIS efficiencies in application processings, Data transparency, though not glamorous victories as say visa recapture. Nonetheless make the path somewhat more comfortable and predictable.
EB3ROW may move also.
The movement of EB2I will be quite revealing for me. If there is quarterly spillover(which under current rules should be the case) then we might see some forward movement or at the very minimum the dates should stay put. However if there is no quarterly spillover, then with the approvals in EB2 recently, they will be hard pressed not to move dates backward somewhat.

Only one question: Ultimately for which companies the h1b consultants work for? It is not for Indian companies. It is always for projects in US companies. Mind it. Let US companies decide whom they want? I do not understand Why some people here are talking that Indian companies are using h1b etc etc.
Go and ask US Govt to provide free College education in computers to everyone in US. Then you will not have all these problems right. Instead of dealing the problem that way simply blaming trade laws?

These companies outsource because it furthers their bottom line and enables them to do what they are good at may be it is home loans , making cars or selling clothes. In the process of outsourcing they can hire best talent with in their means to complete the job in a limited amout of time.
Some people feel that consultants are cheap but they are much more expensive to corporations than their employees.
