The Artist Behind The Shop: Lisa Wagner {ParkwoodCottage}

The Art of photography can transport us to places where we´ve never been and still feel and smell those places. Lisa Wagner´s work is truly beautiful and enchanting. I invite you to know a little bit more of her:

When did you start crafting? What was your motivation?

I became serious about photography a few years ago after receiving a digital camera as a gift. I love working with digital photography as opposed to film because of the freedom and flexibility it provides. I'm motivated by my desire to capture beauty in everyday things and sharing that with others.

Which one of your designs makes you feel prouder of yourself?

I really love my "Tree Wraith" print. I'm really proud of the way the print turned out and how I was able to bring the tree to life in the print.

What kind of things inspire you?

A search for details and beauty in nature and architecture.

Do you have any favorite book, movie, comic, etc?
Which one and why is it your favorite?
My favorite movie is "Breakfast at Tiffany's." I love the 'happy-go-lucky' outlook of Holly Golightly. My favorite book is "Rebecca" by Daphne DuMaurier. I've read it many times and I'm fascinated by DuMaurier's storytelling. She's a master.
If you could choose any fictional character (from books, movies, comics, etc), which one would you like to be? Why?

I would choose Holly Golightly (the movie version). She had such an incredible way of just being herself and living life on her terms. And living in New York in the early 1960s? Wow!

Do you have any mania or obsession?
Coffee and chocolate :)

Is there a place you´ve visited that left a big impression in you? If so, why?

I lived in England for several years when I was growing up, and that left a big impression on me. My mother is English, and it was a wonderful experience to live overseas and absorb another culture.

Would you like to share any advice with your fellow artists?

Be patient and determined. For every 20-30 photographs I take, 4-5 are really good. Don't expect perfection on your first try.

Where can people find you? (blog, twitter, flickr, facebook...)

No facebook page yet.

Anything else you´d like to share?

All of the photographs in the shop are taken by myself or my husband. We try to update our shop on a monthly basis, and take great care in packing our prints so they will arrive safely.

Thank you so much Lisa! It´s been a pleasure!
Please don forget to visit her wonderful shop!
